Join CentrED for this teacher professional learning package, working with Australian Dance Theatre’s Artistic Director Daniel Riley and Learning Coordinator Adrianne Semmens for a 90 minute workshops before viewing the work SAVAGE.Performed by a multi-generational cast, SAVAGE is Daniel Riley’s first major, full-length work for Australian Dance Theatre. A collection of ideas and eras shaped into an urgent piece of dance theatre, SAVAGE looks at personal perceptions of fundamental belief systems and our trust in believing the truths and lies that have captured our hearts and imaginations.
Working with leading director Kate Champion, artist Dean Cross, lighting designer Matthew Adey and composer James Howard, SAVAGE will have its world premiere on Kaurna Country before touring to Ngunnawal/Ngambri Country later in the year.
The professional learning workshop will engage participants in an exploration of SAVAGE’s creative process and accompanying learning resource. Artistic Director, Daniel Riley will introduce his work, collaboration and creative process which draws upon the three pillars of storytelling; visual art, music and dance. Teachers will then engage with the work’s learning resource and its application in student learning with the company’s Learning Coordinator, Adrianne Semmens.
