About this Event
Sauerkraut and Kimchi Workshop
You have probably heard before that probiotics are essential for our digestive health and more. Fermented foods are the biggest store-house of the little gut-friendly microbes that help us to get nutrients from our food.
But did you know that a lot of the store-bought kinds don't contain any good bacteria, since they are pasturised? And even of you can find 'raw' or 'unpasturised' variety, they can be quite expensive, yet it is so easy and cheap to make your own ferments at home! You don't even need any special tools for that.
Come and learn how to make your own ferments from scratch in this hands-on, 3-hour Sauerkraut and Kimchi Workshop. Chef Alina Belousova shares her on twist on these traditional staple foods to make their preparation even more simple and affordable.
This workshop will include:
- The health benefits of fermented foods
- The science and safety of fermentation
- Step-by-step instructions and demonstration
- Hands on preparation in a group setting
- Easy-to-follow recipe cards
- Ingredients
- Q&A session
- Tasters
You will be able to take your creations home.
Who is it for?
This workshop is perfect for beginners and enthusiasts alike who are curious about natural food preservation and the healing properties of fermented foods.
What to bring?
Please bring 2 clean jars (medium-sized, ideally around 250 - 500ml each). All other ingredients will be provided.
