Valentine’s Day, but make it actually fun.This Feb 14th, Thursday Nairobi teams up with Studio Can-V to bring you a Valentine’s night for singles who want great music, good drinks, and better company.
We’re setting the vibe with an amazing DJ lineup, drinks flowing from the Mkokoteni Bar, and matchmaking powered by Matchbox - because swiping is out and real-life chemistry is in.
Here’s how it works: when you arrive, you’ll fill out a quick survey at the start of the night. Then at some point during the evening, your most compatible match will be revealed. What you do with that information is entirely up to you 😉
No awkward games, no forced romance. Just a space to meet new people, flirt a little, dance a lot, and see where the night takes you.
Come solo or with your single friends. Leave with a story… or a date.

Matching will be powered by Matchbox. It’s a software that uses relationship science to find you your most compatible match at the party. The algorithm has matched more than half a million people to date, across 40 countries. It optimises for long-term compatibility, based on values - but it’s up to you to see if you’ll click.
How it works:
Upon arrival, you’ll take a matching questionnaire built by Matchbox's team of relationship scientists and curated by your host.
The Matchbox algorithm will identify your optimal match at the party, based on relationship science, AI, and Nobel Prize-winning economics.
After mingling with the whole group, matches are revealed!

What to expect:
The matching process is highly intentional—come with an open mind.
If your match isn’t love at first sight, that’s okay! The algorithm is designed for long-term compatibility, so at baseline, you’ll be values-aligned.
At the end of the day, this will be a great group of single people. Enjoy meeting everyone, and remember to be kind.
Event Structure:
This event is highly intentional and the matching will proceed on schedule. Please be on time.
5:00pm - the event begins on time, bar opens
8:30pm - doors close, The Algorithm begins computing matches
9:00pm - matches revealed
10:00pm - Event ends
Q: What if I don't get a match? A: We aim to maintain a 50/50 male to female ratio but cannot guarantee that all attendees will show up, as life happens. If there is an uneven split, some matches will be paired platonically. These people receive a free ticket to a future event of their choice, valid for 60 days after this event.
Q: What if my match isn't my type? A: Come with an open mind and with the intention to meet new people and make possible connections. You are also not required to only speak to your match - there is a room full of other singles as well!
Q: What is your refund policy? A: We need to balance the party, and that involves planning! So no refunds will be guaranteed.
