Come and Learn all about WW2 in New Brighton and hear about what life was like on the British Homefront and our Seaside Town leading up to D-Day in June 1944
Starting inside our Napoleonic Fort, You will learn of the D-Day connections to Wallasey and how it took 2 years to plan the largest allied invasion known to man. As we undertake a short walk along the Promenade, you will hear stories of The Blitz, The arrival of the US Army, German Spies in Wallasey, The AA Guns at the Red Noses, The Maunsell Forts in the River Mersey, local Rationing, The Dig for Victory Campaign, Ladies and their new duties, Evacuation, War Dances at the Tower Ballroom and All the Hidden History of the Seaside Resort.
