This Saturday, February 21, at 10:30 am, Linda Cooley will be leading a snowshoe trip starting at the Coplon Road entrance to The Plotter K*ll Preserve. Note this entrance is NOT the main entrance on Mariaville road. See the map included in the link below.
We are planning on a 3-mile snowshoe trip on the South Rim red trail including a yellow overlook trail, stopping at point 10 on the map, included in the link below. There will be some rolling hills (about 150 ft total ascent) with some good overlooks of the valley. We can add a drop down to Plotter K*ll itself for total ascent of 680 feet and total mileage of 4 miles if the group wants.
Directions to the Coplon Parking lot: Take exit 2A (Campbell road) off RT 890. Turn right onto Putnam road after 1 mile. After 1.8 miles turn right onto Mariaville road. After 1.9 mile turn right on to Coplon road. The Preserve will be on your left. Alternatively, put 601 Coplon road, Rotterdam into goggle maps.
Please arrive and dressed to start snowshoeing by 10:30 am.
Call or text Linda Cooley at 518-669-5342 with questions. You must register ahead of time. That can be done by text or by replying by email to [email protected]
LATEST WEATHER: 4-5” of snow is predicted to fall Friday morning through Saturday morning. If parking lots are not plowed, the trip may be moved to Sanders preserve in Glenville. Please register so I can let you know if we have to change the location.
