Throughout November, join us for Saturday Science by the Sea with exciting activities where youth can dive into the fascinating world of marine science! Explore the wonders of the ocean and discover the incredible creatures that inhabit it, with a special focus on tentacled marvels like octopuses and jellyfish to celebrate our new travelling exhibit "Tentacles & Company". November 23rd - Bioluminescent Plankton (We will simulate bioluminescent plankton by creating a glowing effect in water using tonic water or glow-in-the-dark paint, and then disturb the liquid to mimic how plankton light up when moved. Using a blacklight, they can observe the glowing "plankton" and learn how these tiny organisms produce light for defense or communication in the dark ocean.)
