Summer session Saturday Revolutions with Kev Beadle and Perry Louis plus hosts Ket Shah and Alan Mckinnon!
Saturday 15th June -the crew take a break until September so make sure you get down to this!
Kev Beadle’s musical tastes are firmly rooted in soul, jazz, jazz-funk, fusion, latin and Brazilian music and has been one of London’s underground scene's most respected selector/tastemakers for over 35 years.
In that time he has played all over the world (Europe, Japan, US & Russia) at countless club events, festivals, weekenders and presented shows on various radio station platforms since the mid/late 80’s including Starpoint, K-Jazz, Kiss FM, Solar and more recently Totally Wired Radio, never afraid to push musical boundaries playing a broad spectrum of music rooted in jazz and soul from the past through to the present day promoting upcoming artists to a new wider audience.
From the early 90’s he has so far been responsible for compiling around 15 albums for various labels such as Blue Note, BBE, Charly Records and his own Clean Up Records label with another one in the pipeline as well as a handful of productions and remixes for various artists over the years.
He also continues to present his very popular weekly ‘Mind Fluid’ show every Wednesday morning 10am – 1pm on Totally Wired Radio.
Perry Louis has been responsible for some of the finest funk, boogie and jazz dance clubs of the last 30 years, including residencies at The Jazz Cafe, Ronnie Scotts and the 100 Club, and has played with everyone from Gilles Peterson, Snowboy, Patrick Forge, DJ Spinna, Jazzie B, Keb Darge, Shuya Okino, Jazzman Gerald, Aitch Bee (Soul II Soul) and this month’s other Revolutions guest Kev Beadle.
Perry’s the man behind legendary nights including Messing’ Around, Shiftless Shuffle (still rammed after 22 years!!), Weak At The Knees, All About The Boogie and has created compilations for Verve, Freestyle and has played festivals all over the globe and here in the UK, most recently packing out the Sunday at Southport Weekender.
And, to cap it all (and boy, Perry does wear a fine, fine cap), Terry Callier famously declared Perry Louis his favourite ever DJ.
