WATER - HOW LIFE FLOWS
Join local performance artists as they explore a specific theme through stories, poems, music and song.
We are so excited to have Jo Blake, interdisciplinary performer and storyteller supreme , headlining for us (do check out her bio below) as we move into exploring the elements that shape our world.
This month we'll be diving into Water and aligning with the many ways in which water manifests within us and without.
We are predominantly made of water, we need water to live. Water takes on many forms as it adapts its shape to fit whatever vessel it finds itself in. It flows gently in trickling streams and can wipe out villages in a tsunami. It carries memories and is highly programmable.
This evening is an invitation to look at our own relationship with water, the waters that flow through our own body, the quality of the water we consume and how we relate to and commune with external bodies of water.
Let us reawaken to the Magick that water carries and be inspired to take care of the waters within us and around us.
There'll be a refreshment and toilet break mid way, a chance to connect and chat with like-minded folk and the opportunity at the end via a fun Q&A to ask the performance artists questions or share any revelations that may arise for you throughout the evening.
This is an intimate Venue - Only 30 ticket sales in total - 3 admission options available - Please pay what you can genuinely afford ??
Admission includes refreshments during the break - There's access to a toilet throughout the night.
Seating is relaxed, cosy and informal with a mixture of chairs, cushions, bolsters and blankets.
*Please note before booking: This is a small venue with access that is not suitable for wheelchairs. The toilet is upstairs and not suitable for disabled persons. Due to small numbers we have a no refund policy.

THE LINE UP...
Headlining: Jo Blake - Interdisciplinary Performe & Storyteller Supreme
Jo is interdisciplinary performance maker whose practice sits at the intersection of storytelling, dance and theatre. Like many freelancers in the arts, she wears many hats: performer, director, facilitator, teacher, administrator and curator. She's curious about the transformative power of embodied myth, and acts of narration as cultural therapeutics.
Jo has a PhD in Emergent Storytelling Practices from the University of Chichester, an MA with Distinction in Dance Theatre from Trinity Laban and a First Class BA (Hons) in Performing Arts from the University of Winchester.
In 2009, she was nominated for an Arts Foundation Fellowship Award for Storytelling. In 2019, she founded a 6-month long contemporary storytelling training course called Body, Breath and Story, which ran for two years, before being rudely interrupted by the pandemic. She's currently developing new ways of sharing the practice in a different format in the post-covid world.
As a native Northamptonian, Jo has been active in her local region, building a long-term relationship with Royal & Derngate theatre, where she was Resident Storyteller between 2009 and 2011, and working with community dance theatre company, Deep Roots Tall Trees, in Corby. She's had several local commissions (Fotheringhay, Town, My Town, Behind the Curtain), and was part of the successful multi-arts, heritage and community project, 60 Miles by Road or Rail in 2021, through which she met her wonderful producer, Courtenay Johnson. Jo is an associate lecturer at University of Northampton, where she's taught since 2009.
Jo is a keen collaborator. Over the years she's worked with hundreds of school children, university students, and various prominent national and international institutions, including the National Trust, National Theatre and British Council, as well as established and emerging artists from diverse disciplines, both as performer and director. In recent years, she has also started mentoring solo artists.
Jo is amazed and grateful to have worked professionally in performance since 2005. From documentary films, to solo storytelling, to dance and puppetry, to mythic midsummer rituals. Her projects a numerous and diverse.
We are delighted that she is supporting us for another awesome Saturday Night @ The OM.

Music: Singer songwriter, Lootie Johansen-Bibby
Lootie is so happy to be sharing some music and songs with you and we are so happy to have her performing live for you here @The OM. There is a beautiful heartfelt and healing resonance to Lootie's voice that for sure will find its way to bless many.
The arts, creativity and healing have always been central in Lootie’s life and work. After a youth in dance, she trained as a movement artist, creative facilitator and expressive arts psychotherapist.
For 15 years, Lootie has worked with professionals, children and communities to facilitate theatre and performance. She then worked as a therapist with children in nurseries and schools, with adults in mental health and in the community.
In 2016, Lootie had a head injury which changed the course of her life, and facilitated her journey back to herself, to spirituality and nature. She continues to deepen her relationship with her embodied Self and the earth through yoga, sound and song, and tending a garden and allotment.
Music has become an increasingly important part of Lootie’s healing and her way of connecting. She sings regularly in a medicine and mantra circle at The OM Studio, where she has increased in confidence, connection and joy.
Lootie has also supported Jo many times before, so we can look forward to see the synergy between these two amazingly talented beings.
Having loved writing as a kid because she was painfully shy and found it very difficult to express herself verbally, Raye randomly started writing Poetry again during an anxiety attack in the London Underground in 2014, whilst mid way through an Authentic Success Coaching program with Dr Robert Holden. She got to read out her poem “Dancing In-Between the I’s” and it was received with a standing ovation! An unexpected success indeed.
In 2015 she ended up in Spain for 6 months and became a Monk teaching Meditation for a few years. However, the poetry flood gates had opened and the “Poetry Pixies” persisted in pestering her until she rather surprisingly started performing her poems at Scribal Gathering in 2019. She’s been a regular performer for “Ode to the Siren” as part of the Stony Live festival.
Raye is a senior Yoga teacher, taught at Whitespace Yoga Studio in Milton Keynes for last 4 years and also runs her own Yoga business offering online classes and Shamanic therapies form her boat in Northamptonshire as well as in-person workshops and retreats.
A modern day Mystic, she loves writing about the Magickal, the Mystical and the Mundane. In 2022 she started “The Silent Revolution” to help people reconnect with their most authentic selves and find more Joy in their Hearts and their everyday mundane existence. She wishes to bring people together not just in the Silence through Meditation, but in Heartfelt connection, through their shared stories, songs and poems.. And so here we are experiencing a wish being fulfilled in Saturday Night @ The OM, where Raye performs, comperes and weaves together the theme with the other performers throughout the night.

Host: Debbie OM
Debbie OM and the OM Studio are all about how awareness of the body/mind connection has a profound effect on the quality of our lives. She had her first visions of the OM Studio in 2003 after returning from a Mantra Retreat with one of her Beloved teachers Muz Murray. You can read more about the birth of the OM Studio here.
Debbies own Yoga journey started in 1995 with Mary Davis as she rediscovered through Yoga the enjoyment of movement, ease and fluidity in her body, which led her to training to become a Yoga teacher. She felt like she was on a mission to finding more meaning through life. It was in 2000 she met Muz, whom work with the Sanskrit alphabet and Mantra, she has described as a revelation.
Debbie has a clear vision of continually creating a safe space for bringing souls together to work on letting go of past hurts. She envisions creating a space for the heart to rest and feel safe for self enquiry into the NOW moment.
In 2006 she found herself at the foot of the Divine Arunarchala mountain in India which re-opened within her the joy of sound, dance and music. Unknown to her it had been buried and forgotten, however the mantra was now fully bringing this remembrance back to life.
Debbie supports Saturday Night @ The OM with her Presence, welcoming all who join us and provides the delicious nibbles and refreshments we have in the break. Sometimes she joins us on the stage to sing and also for the Q & A.
You can read more about Debbies journey and find out about all the other wonderful things happening with the walls of the OM at:
