Join local performance artists, 1st February 2025, 7 - 9.30pm as we celebrate Imbolc, traditionally a festival of awakening in the Celtic wheel of the year to honour the Divine spark of inspiration within. We'll be exploring and giving a voice to our theme "Return To Innocence", through stories, poems, music and song. The Earth is awakening at this time from the slumber of Winter. These stirrings of renewed life that we see in the emergence of the first snowdrops remind us of the potency that dwells beneath our feet, of beauty and the need for innocence. It's a delicate time, for to be innocent is to be vulnerable. There's an invitation to remain curious as the serpent life force in Nature and our own body is getting ready to be reborn.
Winter is giving way to Springtime energies. We are still deeply connected to the fertile darkness within us, so it's a great time to journey inwards, to plant seeds of intentions and bring forth visions and revelations through poetry and song. If we can remain innocent, we become open to receive intuitive flashes, sparks of inspiration that lighten our Spirit and guide us further along our chosen path.
Imbolc is also a time for reclaiming what has been forgotten. Sometimes life's challenges cause us to forget who we really are. Will we meet ourselves anew? Will we shed our old skin with gusto and allow a new being to emerge? A being that to date, has overcome every challenge that they've faced. A being that alchemises struggle into Wisdom. A being thats ever evolving, ever growing, ever changing. Will you meet your emerging Self and life with Innocence? We're so excited to welcome our special guest, local, BBC featured, spoken word artist Growing Nai, who joins our in house musician, singer & songwriter Lootie Johansen and myself Raye, aka The Bendy Witch, as compere, weaving together the theme with some poems, stories and a Haiku here and there.
There'll be OM NOM NOM's included, a delicious snack and hot beverage provided and served by Debbie OM, toilet break mid way and a chance to connect and chat with like-minded folk. There's the opportunity at the end via a fun Q&A to ask the performance artists questions or share any revelations that may arise for you throughout the evening.
We look forward to inspiring you, through the sharing of our own journeys, towards the reclamation of innocence.
