About this Event
The One-Off is an electric evening of improv comedy featuring performers you may never see again; at least in this combination! Our guests this month are Rachel Bouton and Patrick Williams, who are each teaching individual workshops at our theater during the day. Watch their skills at work in this innovative showcase; they will be joined by LIP resident teacher/coach, Tom Kelley!

Rachel Bouton is an improviser, host, and experience designer based in New York City. After completing the advanced study improv and sketch programs at the Upright Citizens Brigade in 2012, she spent several years as a cast member of the touring musical comedy show Broadway’s Next Hit Musical, performing improvised musicals in exotic locations like Michigan and North Carolina. She is also a founding cast member of Vern, one of New York’s longest running musical improv companies, most recently completing a successful 6-month off-Broadway run in Vern: Off Broadway at The Player’s Theater. When she isn’t on stage making up musicals, she designs events and experiences for organizations that have included Atlas Obscura, Grist Magazine, Science Friday, and The New York Times. She’s a big trivia and gameshow geek and has appeared as a contestant on $100,000 Pyramid and Who Wants to be a Millionaire (spoiler: I did not become a millionaire). She lives in Queens with her husband and their two cats, all of whom she thinks are very funny and charming.
Patrick Darwin Williams is an actor, improviser, instructor, and comedian based out of Queens, NY. Patrick holds a BA in Acting from the University of South Carolina with a cognate in Dance, as well as an MFA in acting from The New School for Drama. Film and TV credits include Bobby Fischer in Mysteries of the Museum, Cinemax's Girl's Guide to Depravity, Archaeology of a Woman starring Sally Kirkland, Civic Duty starring Joe List and Tommy Pope, and the Goon in Pulling Wool (Winner Best Screenplay Manhattan Film Festival). He is an active commercial actor/voice over artist, skilled at impressions, and proud to be represented by BBR. Patrick has taught and performed comedy across the US, Canada, and Europe and is presently a performer and instructor at the People's Improv Theater in Manhattan. He has appeared as a host at Joe's Pub and at benefit auctions across New York. Patrick is happy living in Queens with his wife, son, and two cats.
Tom Kelley is an improvisor, actor, director, and teacher. Starting out as a professional actor, Tom switched to improv in 2014, training in multiple programs including Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB) and Reckless Theatre in NYC, and also extensively with the Swedish improv teacher, Anders Fors. He has taught, coached and performed improv in NYC, Philadelphia, and internationally in Canada, France, Germany, Norway, and Sweden. He is currently coaching the LIP house team The Real Prom.

Due to the size of our theater, there is a quick turnover time between our scheduled shows. If you purchase tickets to both events on Saturday evening, you will be asked to wait outside during the break so that the next team can warm up before the audience returns.
