Fox Wood is all about child led play and time for the adults to unwind, but we are also really passionate about making space for wildlife.We have a range of play areas for children to choose where they want to go and what they want to do - this includes:
mud kitchen
rope swing
hammocks
muddy hill
ditch
mud painting
bug hunting equipment
tools
potion station
den building...
and lots of opportunities for open ended adventurous play - where children choose where to take their play.
Sometimes there will be play suggestions, craft, exploring nature, group games - but we recognise there is much greater value, excitement, adventure and learning to be had through children's own exploration and free play. This is when children are at their most creative, imaginative, confident and resilient, working together, trying out new things, exploring their boundaries and building friendships. So whilst we offer some activities the focus is firmly on child led play.
