DAN HURWITZ is disabled, Black, Jewish, a good cook, a bad basketball player, and, mostly, really really funny. A Seattle-based comedian, writer, and filmmaker, Dan was voted Best of Fest at both the Burbank Comedy Festival and Jersey City Comedy Festival and was a semifinalist in the 2023 edition of the 40+ year-running Seattle International Comedy Competition. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dan used the time stuck at home to co-write, co-direct, and eventually co-star in This is Spinal Injury, a mockumentary about the trials of disabled artists in quarantine, which later premiered at the Northwest Film Forum’s Local Sightings Film Festival in 2021.
Along with his creative endeavors, Dan also is a producer of the annual Disabled List Comedy Festival and was a 2023 keynote speaker at the Pacific Northwest Employment Forum.
