This week is a talk about: Japan, Shinto, and Noodles with Spencer Windes
Last January, Spencer Windes traveled to Japan, where he was given an inside view into the Grand Shrine of Ise, the most important religious complex in Shintoism. He shares his visit into this sacred space with his tour guide, Takami, a temple carpenter who is part of the team that rebuilds the main shrine complex every twenty years in a chain of construction that goes back more than 12 centuries.
Spencer will share his photos and talk about his experience in the sacred forests of Ise, as well as the many events surrounding the Japanese New Year.
