Meet Misako Rocks!, a Japanese manga artist and illustrator who followed her dreams all the way to America. At age 19, she won a scholarship to come to America as an exchange student and has been making her mark ever since. Misako’s love of manga and anime led her to become a manga artist in the US, with her graphic novel Bounce Back being selected as one of the 2021 Best Graphic Novels for Children by the American Library Association. Misako has also written several books and has been featured in documentaries, TV, and radio shows, and even collaborated with Playstation. With her online community and book series Learn Manga with Misako, and her YouTube channel @MisakoRocks, she is helping kids learn kawaii manga drawing. Her Learn Manga with Misako books include How to Draw Kawaii Manga Characters, How to Draw Kawaii Manga Fashion, How to Draw Kawaii Manga Chibi: Big Emotions, and How to Draw Kawaii Manga Pets. Misako’s journey from Japan to America is an inspiring story of pursuing one’s passions and following one’s dreams.
