LUGHNASADH LAMMAS WITCHES SABBAT - RITUAL & WORKSHOP (Daylesford)SATURDAY 31 January 2026
11AM - 1PM
$30
Lughnasadh or Lammas is the seventh Witches Sabbat on the Wheel of the Year. In the Southern Hemisphere it is celebrated on the 1st February.
Lughnasadh marks the start of the noticeable descent of the Sun towards the darkness of winter. From the connection between Mother Earth and the Sun God at Bealtaine, we harvest the fruits of the first harvest of the year. It is also a time of tension and transition, when we begin to lose the sunlight as the dark of the night grows.
The God of the harvest is the Green Man or John Barleycorn who sacrificing himself every year to enable human life on Earth.
The grain is cut; some used to bake bread, the rest is stored away for use throughout the winter. Seeds are kept until next spring, to create new life.
To celebrate this time of transition on the Wheel, join us by the hearth for ritual & spellbinding.
We'll be making traditional items to celebrate this special time of the year.
Please bring along a plate to share and photo(s) of your Ancestors to add to our Ancestral Altar.
