THIS SPECIAL VALENTINES/ GALENTINES WORKSHOP IS FOR TWO PEOPLE TO MAKE ONE RUG/ WALL ART PIECE TOGETHER.In this super fun, hands on workshop, you will learn the basics of working with a tufting gun to create you own rug or wall hanging. You will learn how to stretch fabric on a large frame, wind your yarn, using the power tufting gun (Using a Tuft the World cut pile gun). We will also offer a demo on finishing your rug/ glueing and send you home with a small container of rug adhesive. Pending how much time your project takes- you may also be able to trim your piece in class. We will demo trimming techniques with scissors and shears/ clippers.We supply all yarns, materials, our handmade frames and the tufting guns. Since this is a new workshop for us, if there is a specific color of yarn you would like to use feel free to bring any yarn with you and contact us for details. We do have a wonderful selection. We also recommend thinking about a design that is simple with less small detail.Your max canvas will be 24x24 with space on the sides to practice and warm up. We will email out details and info before class so you have time gather ideas.
Class rules/ details. Classes are for adults 18 & over unless noted, please email us for permission for any younger students. Cancellations must be made 72hrs in advance. If after the 72hr mark- we can try to replace your spot and issue a gift certificate if we are able to replace your spot. You are welcome to gift or transfer your ticket if you cant attend. In cases of snow or extreme weather, we do contact students by email and text to reschedule class.
Classes take place at our Wilkinsburg Studio at 321 Pennwood Ave 15221 across from the busway and train tracks, down the right side of the bold colored building. Plenty of parking along Pennwood Ave. Please see photos on our class page for reference. Classes are not air conditioned but are in a cool warehouse, so dress comfortable for the weather. Snacks and refreshments are welcome:) Have fun!
