Join resident Craftmistress, Artist and Educator Daniella D., and other local creatives and creative spirits, for a fun, hands on collage workshop at Baker Falls. The venue is a home for artists with an enchanted, haunted mansion theme. We'll create modern twists on the Victorian Valentine, where heart themes abound and the art-card creations come out beautifully.
Pick from an array of assorted images for your collaging pleasure. Explore themes of love, nature, and symbolism through collage, and Floriography - the secret language of flowers used to communicate hidden desires. Don't forget Vinegar Valentines, hilarious, mean-spirited cards sent anonymously in the Victorian era. And lastly, there's a surprising story of how 19th century valentines made it in America.
Collage Kits include: lovingly curated vintage images, retro ribbons, lace, floral fabric, found art objects and embellishments, and also images honoring Black History Month. You’ll have everything you need to design a beautiful piece that can be gifted, made into a Valentine's card, or framed as a keepsake.
This is a relaxed and creative papercraft and collage activity, unique and magical, not connected to any commercialization or Hallmark holiday. It will be a inspiring community afternoon.
*Complimentary sweet treats by Li-Lac Chocolates and Bien Cuit Bakery will be served*
*Coffee concoctions, tea, and booze for sale at the bar*
