Join Erin Eggenburg for an information packed, sashiko inspired visible mending for denim & wovens workshop. With hands-on practice, you’ll learn this simple, but useful patterned stitching technique for patching denim and other woven textiles. This is a great class for beginners and seasoned hand stitchers alike with an interest in how mending can be both functional and beautiful. This 3-hour workshop includes:
* a presentation of mending materials and how they are used in practice
* a hands-on tutorial to practice and complete a patch, in the sashiko-style embroidery technique.
* an explanation of how to repair specific types of mends (crotch/butt patching, threadbare areas, torn pockets, worn knees)
* an opportunity to ask questions about your specific repair
