/Sashiko/ (刺し子) means “little stabs” in Japanese — a reference to the small, even, running stitches used in this traditional textile art. Originating as a practical form of mending, Sashiko has evolved into a beautiful, meditative craft that strengthens, decorates, and tells stories through cloth and thread.
Try your hand at this beautiful technique in a 2-hour workshop run by Peace By Piece Art and learn simple patterns that promote calm and focus while stitching stories into cloth.
This workshop is $30, all materials are provided. Maximum of 15 participants.
Event will be held at The Laneway Artspace, Bayswater (read of 5 King William Street)
