Inspired by the artistry of kimonos, immerse yourself in the art of sashiko stitching in a hands-on workshop with Museum staff members Emily Wesenick and Shannon Pueschner. Novice and experienced stitchers alike will craft their own palm thimble, explore the fascinating history of boro and sashiko, and create a one-of-a-kind furoshiki tie bag adorned with traditional sashiko patterns. Join us at the Glass Box Studio for a creative and meditative experience, where you'll connect with the rich cultural tradition of Japanese textile arts. Registration is required. Fee: $50 for Museum members, $65 for non-members; includes all materials and a meal.
