Where We Are Free: Understanding the Past, Breaking Barriers, and Caring for Black Women on the Path Forward
Presented by the SASHA Center
Come hear from the creators of “Breaking Barriers: Working with African American Sexual Assault Survivors”, featured on the Michigan Victims Advocacy Network, and the impactful “The Black Women’s Triangulation of Rape Model."
This community-first, culturally responsive training offers a deep historical account of the sexual violence Black women have endured in U.S. history, the policies that shaped their access to justice, and the systemic barriers they continue to face when seeking support. Through an ecological lens, we will examine how these factors intersect and, most importantly, explore how to provide meaningful care for Black women today with this knowledge.
