Sustainable Saratoga is holding their fifth annual Saratoga Recycles Day on Saturday October 2 from 9 am – 12 pm in the SPAC overflow parking lot on the west side of Route 50. There are COVID-related safety protocols in place again this year – masks are required; please bring exact change to minimize the handling of money; and organize items by drop-off station to reduce physical contact; remain in your vehicle at all times. WHAT: Saratoga Recycles Day
WHEN: Saturday October 2 from 9 am until noon
WHERE: SPAC Parking Lot west side of Route 50
WHO: Anyone can participate! There are no residency requirements for this event.
COST: There is a $5 entrance fee per vehicle. TVs and monitors have an additional $30 fee per item (limit 4). Accepted payment is cash or check – please bring exact change to minimize the handling of money.
WE ARE COLLECTING THE FOLLOWING ITEMS:
1. The Saratoga Lions Club: sunglasses eyeglasses hearing aids in any condition. (NO cases)
2. Wellspring: cell phones with chargers
3. Pitney Meadows Community Farm: Hand tools (good condition) watering cans hoses sprinklers soaker hoses garden hose attachments hoes spades metal rakes etc. (NO Motorized Tools - i.e. lawn mowers edgers W**d whackers)
4. We Are Instrumental (any condition): Woodwind and brass instruments: flutes oboes clarinets bassoons saxophones trumpets french horns trombones baritones and tubas. String instruments: violins violas cellos basses. Any condition. (NO pianos or drum sets)
5. Backstretch Employee Service Team (B.E.S.T.): men’s work clothing including jeans hoodies jackets boots work shoes backpacks.
6. Domestic Violence Project of Warren & Washington Counties (clean new/gently used): backpacks grocery bags tote bags children’s clothes size 2t to 10/12
7. American Clothing Company (any condition clothing and textiles): clothes coats shoes belts hats gloves sleeping bags backpacks sheets quilts comforters towels rags etc. (NO pillows carpeting or rugs with rubber backing)
8. Bikeatoga: Adult bicycles 20- and 24-inch mountain bikes (no helmets; no other kids’ bikes)
9. Planit Salvage and eLot Recycling: Electronics and metal items
* Electronics & Small Appliances: Microwaves toasters blenders coffee machines hot plates cable or satellite receivers audio/visual equipment phones computers & accessories printers VCRs DVD players video game systems wiring & cables etc. (NO smoke detectors batteries or thermostats)
* Televisions & Monitors: We WILL be accepting TVs and monitors again this year for an additional fee of $30 per item and a limit of 4 per vehicle.
* Metal Objects: basketball hoops grills unusable bikes metal lawn care equipment etc. for scrap metal recycling (no large appliances)
