About this Event

Experience the Magic of a Sarangi Concert!

Ustaad Kamal Sabri is an internationally renowned sarangi maestro, composer, and cultural ambassador, representing the seventh generation of the illustrious 400-year-old Moradabad Gharana. The son and foremost disciple of the legendary Sarangi Samrat Ustaad Sabri Khan, he began his musical journey as a child prodigy and has since emerged as one of the most respected voices of Indian classical music on the global stage. Deeply rooted in tradition, he is admired for his profound raga interpretation, tonal purity, and expressive mastery of the sarangi.

Alongside his classical excellence, Ustaad Kamal Sabri is celebrated as an innovator. One of his most notable contributions is the introduction of a cello string to the sarangi, significantly expanding its tonal range and expressive possibilities while preserving its traditional soul. This innovation reflects his lifelong commitment to evolving Indian classical music in dialogue with contemporary and global musical forms.

Ustaad Kamal Sabri has performed extensively at major international festivals, prestigious concert halls, and cultural institutions across the world. His collaborations span classical, world music, orchestral, dance, and contemporary genres. He has also composed music for films, theatre, and interdisciplinary productions, earning him the Composer of the Year Award 2023 in Mumbai. In the same year, his global impact was recognized with the World Music Artist Award 2023 in Uzbekistan, affirming his stature as a leading world music figure.
