About this Event
Sarah’s Oil follows 11-year-old Sarah Rector, a Black girl in early 1900s Oklahoma who believes there’s oil under her seemingly worthless land. Despite doubt from others, her firm belief is proven right when oil is discovered. Her find not only changes her life, but also challenges people around her as she becomes one of the first African American female millionaires in the United States.
