Sarah Tonin, 28 Days Later, and Quinn Trilk are hitting the stage at xBk on June 9th — just because! Join us for a lively show full of great songs and pure Iowa talent!
Sarah Tonin is an avant-pop/rock band from the Des Moines area consisting of frontman Sarah Bean, drummer Cameron Mertes, guitarist Lotus Geigly, and bassist Vivien Shutters. After the release of Sarah’s debut EP “7th”, the band has been actively playing shows around Des Moines at public events and headlining shows. The band is currently working on producing their first full length album.
All band members of 28 Days Later - Natalie, Joey, Gino and Jake - are current or former students at Norwalk High School.
In July of 2022, the band released 6 tracks on their first EP, "Dog Days", available now on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Amazon Music and others. Over the summer, their original song, "Right on Red", was added to the rotation to air on Des Moines' KFMG radio.
Immediately after releasing “Dog Days” the band has gone on to write a self-titled LP “28 Days Later” recording the album with Bryan Vanderpool and Blake Van Houten from Golden Bear Records. The focused singles “Phases” and “All Hard Feelings” have quickly turned into fan favorites from their live shows. The album was released on all platforms November 1st, 2023.
Currently they are breaking into the Iowa City scene with most of the band currently residing in Iowa City. headlining shows at Gabe’s, 28 Days Later has continued to strive for success within the two scenes.
Quinn Trilk is a seventeen year-old singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Norwalk, Iowa. She has been singing, writing and performing music since she could talk. At the age of five in 2011 her original song “Happy Birthday Fairy Godmother” was released word-wide on a children’s album that her dad Dan Trilk released with Debbie Doo Wop & Dynamite Dan called “Cheesy Peas”. Two years later her song “Aliens Are Real” was released on Debbie Doo Wop & Dynamite Dan’s second release “Party!”. At the age of eight Quinn joined her first band “Neon Notes” as a tambourine player. Soon she was playing everything from drums, bass, keys, ukulele and vocals. Quinn’s new solo material has sophistication well beyond her years. Currently, she has her solo EP “Pencil Filled Paper” released on all major music platforms. Look for more music from Quinn in the weeks, months, and years ahead. She is just getting started.
