From the day the Minneapolis based singer-songwriter picked up a guitar, armed with the bone-deep memory of her parents’ well-loved record collection and rooted in the storytelling fire of a Mary Chapin Carpenter tune, she’s been too busy crafting love letters to the details of the trees. Sarah’s endearingly honest, expertly penned songs encourage audiences to pull away from the big picture and get caught up in the magic of our everyday minutia, the rainy day ache in her sunlit voice granting us permission to escape into stories at once hauntingly familiar and uniquely her own.

Singer/Songwriter ’s music has been described as “a blend of Tori Amos’ intellectual appeal, Sarah McLachlan’s mystical charm and Edie Brickell’s baroque spirit” (Jamsphere). Her second album You & Me & the Sun was released in June of 2018 to critical acclaim. Since her first album In Good Time, Annie has been honored by the Songwriters Hall of Fame as an artist to watch, was an integral of the NYC Indie scene, had her son Will, and welcomed a move back to her home state of Minnesota and a newfound sense of space to create. Annie is a co-founder of the Valkyrie Music Collective based in Minneapolis, which aims to create opportunities for change, balance and community in the music industry. She is also a part of the #MeTooMpls Collective that released a record named 2020’s top 10 albums by the Star Tribune. The compilation was created to lift the voices of people who identify as women/femmes/trans/nobinary, to raise awareness around sexual assault and abuse, and to fund Planned Parenthood. Annie is passionate about kindness, truth, growth & gratitude, and aims to find intentional ways to explore these things with others.

Further, attending events could increase your risk of contracting COVID-19.

As our guest you will agree to the following assumption of risk and waiver of liability: “By purchasing a ticket, I acknowledge the contagious nature of COVID-19 and voluntarily assume the risk of being exposed to or infected by COVID-19 by attending events and that such exposure or infection may result in personal injury, illness, permanent disability, and death. I understand that the risk of becoming exposed to or infected by COVID-19 at the event may result from the actions, omissions, or negligence of ticket holders and others, including, but not limited to, employees, volunteers, and program participants and their families. I voluntarily agree to assume all of the foregoing risks and accept sole responsibility for any injury to my guest(s) or myself (including, but not limited to, personal injury, disability, and death), illness, damage, loss, claim, liability, or expense, of any kind, that I or my guest(s) may experience or incur in connection with my guest’s attendance at the event or participation in concert programming (“Claims”). On my behalf, and on behalf of my guest(s), I hereby release, covenant not to sue, discharge, and hold harmless The Hook and Ladder Theater, its employees, agents, and representatives, of and from the Claims, including all liabilities, claims, actions, damages, costs or expenses of any kind arising out of or relating thereto. I understand and agree that this release includes any Claims based on the actions, omissions, or negligence of the The Hook and Ladder Theater, its employees, agents, and representatives, whether a COVID-19 infection occurs before, during, or after participation in any event program.”
