Nashville songwriter and recording artist, Sarah Jane Nelson, returns to her hometown of Monroe, Louisiana for an Acoustic Songwriter Series at Flying Tiger Brewery. Nelson attended Ouachita Christian School and graduated from Neville High School. She went on to New York City where she starred on Broadway, toured the U.S. and Europe, and acted in film, tv, voice overs, and commercials. She now makes her home in Nashville where she will be recording her 7th album this fall. Nelson won 1st place in the MerleFest Chris Austin Songwriting Competition and is a two time finalist for the Kerrville Folk Festival's Emerging Songwriters Competition.
Born in Little Rock, Nelson has had three nominations for the Arkansas Country Music Awards (album of the year and female vocalist of the year). She's performed in opening acts for Jason Isbell, LeAnn Rimes, and Josh Turner and regularly plays at The Bluebird Cafe in Nashville.
Nelson will be accompanied on guitar and backing vocals by Nashville songwriter and guitarist, Michael DeMay.
