She's twice played live on BBC Radio 4’s 'Woman's Hour' + was interviewed by Andrew Marr on BBC Radio 4’s 'Start the Week' on the role of politics in song. They will be debuting songs (4 of which they co-wrote) from Gillespie’s latest album Half Cut recorded in Berlin’s legendary Hansa studio. The music is a mix of wonky narrative folk, Americana + jazz punctuated by Gillespie’s trademark poetic lyricism. Her bandmate Chris Montague is regularly compared to Tom Waits right hand man Marc Robot and the Americana/Jazz guitarist Bill Frisell.
