The Saps at Sea Present: By Request! Films we haven't seen in a while.
John Field, our late previous Grand Sheik for over 30 years, kept a list of what films were shown, so we wouldn't see the same ones too often. So, here are classics we haven't seen in some time!

First, Bugs Bunny in Slick Hare (1947) Elmer Fudd to Bugs Bunny: “Mr. Humphrey Bogart would just WUV to have you for dinner.” Be advised, this cartoon includes pie throwing.

Next is the Boys in Early to Bed (1928) Ollie inherits a fortune and makes Stan his butler. This film is unusual because the only supporting player is Buster the dog! Featuring live music by my favorite pianist, Russ Peck!

Our Guest Comedians are Our Gang in Readin' and Writin' (1932). Teacher Miss Crabtree looks forward to the first day of school. The Our Gang kids, not so much! This one features Stymie, who admired Stan and liked to borrow his derby hat. So Stan said "Give the kid a derby!", and that became Stymie's look.

After intermission and a shorter-this-time raffle, we'll show...

Pack Up Your Troubles (1932). Stan and Ollie rescue their friend's orphaned daughter, played by Our Gang's Jackie Lyn Dutton. At the 1992 Sons of the Desert convention, Jackie told us how much she enjoyed working with Laurel and Hardy when she was just three years old.
Remember our new starting time – 6 p.m. Doors open at 5:30. See you there!
