About this Event
Come along to our Sapphic Sounds Open Mic Night, an inclusive platform for artists to showcase their creative talents through music, comedy, and spoken word. In response to the male-dominated nature of open mic nights, we have created a safe and welcoming space for women and non-binary folks to freely express themselves and their art. However, we want to emphasise that everyone is welcome to attend and support the performers!
Profits from this fundraising event will be directly supporting SHRUB Coop, which focuses on environmental sustainability and community initiatives.
Let's come together, celebrate diverse voices, and make this Open Mic Night as great as the last one!
Due to the exceptionally high demand of our first open mic night (which we called Women and Non-binary Led Open Mic night), we are releasing some advance tickets through eventbrite with a small number of additional tickets available on the door.
There will be tea, coffee and cakes available for purchase.
Access Notes:
The Zero Waste Hub is on the ground floor with a small step at the entrance. A ramp is available upon request. All the public spaces throughout the building are step free and there are gender neutral and powerchair accessible toilets (no changing places toilet) with hand rails. Noisy sirens do go through the neighbourhood. We do not have a hearing loop installed.
Our venue is located near bus stops served by the following routes: 2, 35, 34, 16, 11, 24, 12, 10, 36, 47. There is limited on-street parking and paid parking on Castle Terrace (roughly 300 metres away by foot on partially cobbled path or 400+ via flatter paved paths).
If you have further questions regarding accessibility, please contact the Zero Waste Hub on 0131 281 0583 or at [email protected].
Photos will be taken on the night.
