SOUTH AUSTRALIA PINBALL & ARCADE, PINBALL WIZARD XXVI TOURNAMENT

Tournament will be Group Matchplay format. All format information is provided below. This will be XXVI Tournament at South Australia Pinball & Arcade.
TROPHIES FOR TOP 3 PLAYERS
All Tournaments endorsed by the International Flipper Pinball Association. All participants will receive World Pinball Player Rankings points.
GENERAL INFORMATION:
Location – 19 Playford Crescent Salisbury North, Adelaide South Australia 5108
2. Information and questions from players 12:00pm -1:00pm.
3. Tournament: 1:00pm -5:00ish pm.
4. We are running a Group Match Play tournament using Matchplay Events.
5. 15 -20 Pinballs in use on the day.
6. Players will be grouped in 4. There will be 4 separate rounds of 4 matches. This means every player will play 16 matches in total minimum.
8. In each round the group will play a single game on three different machines and allocated points according to their finishing position: 7/5/3/1 for 4 player groups and 7/4/1 for 3 players groups if necessary. This is the IFPA system of scoring.
9. For the first round, grouping will be based on IFPA rankings.
10. PLEASE NOTE: After the first round we will use the computer to balance the groups so that players can possibly play each other for the 2nd to 4th rounds.
11. We are doing this because the tournament does not require pre-registration.
12. At the close of the 4th round, the highest points score will be allocated seeding for the final to ultimately declare a tournament winner.
13. Ties will be broken by the number of first place finishes, then by the number of second place finishes and if necessary a single game play-off.
14. ENTRY FEE: $25 for the whole event.
15. On the day players should have their IFPA # ready, to save time.

Seeding: IFPA.
First round pairing: Slaughter.
General pairing: Balanced - Players will be randomly paired with previously unfaced opponents.
Player order: Rotating - Random order for the first game, then rotates player order evenly.
Scoring system: IFPA (7/5/3/1) (7/4/1).
Arena draws:*Balanced - Attempts will be made to assign an arena that has been played the fewest times by all opponents.
Duration: 4 rounds (approx.). Matches each round: 4 matches.
Tiebreaker: Break ties by placement - Ties will be broken by number of first place finishes, then by number of second place finishes and, if necessary a single game play-off.
