About the Artist:
Pandit Dishari Chakraborty took his first lessons in vocal music from Vidushi Ananya Chakraborty (disciple of Pandit Prasun Banerjee & Acharya Pankaj Mallik). Age of 6 the classical training of Maihar Gharana in instrumental music started from Professor Ustad Dhyanesh Khan (disciple of Padma Bhushan Annapurna Devi) at the house of Baba Allauddin Khan. Blessed by Swarasamrat Padma Vibhushan Ustad Ali Akbar khan studied rababi and veenkari style of Maihar Gharana. Learned sitar technic and raga music from Vidushi Ameena Perera (daughter of Ustad Ali Akbar Khan). Trained on santoor & sarode in veenkari style under Present Khalifa of Maihar-Senia Veenkar Gharana Ustad Aashish Khan (grandson of Padma Vibhushan Acharya Baba Allauddin Khan).
He learned percussion and pakhawaj, raga music from Tabla Maestro Pandit Shankar Ghosh. Studied the use of instruments in the classical music of the subcontinent and classical written theory from Professor Dr.E.S.Perera. Learned tabla and layakari from Guru Goutam Guha. Took vocal training in suddhavani, drupad gayaki of Taan-Senia style from Pandit Dr.Vinay Bharatram (disciple of Bharat Ratna Pandit Ravi Shankar). Learned from Vidushi Zubeda Khan about the daily training method of Baba Allauddin Khan and the use of various instrument in the Maihar Band (Orchestra). Learnt European Classical music from a disciple of violin maestro Lord Yehudi Menuhin and specialized in film scoring from International film composer Hans Zimmer.
