Jackson County Health Department is pleased to announce our third annual Santa Speedo 5K in commemoration of World AIDS Day! JCHD, along with our community sponsors, are excited to continue to raise awareness for people living with and at risk for HIV/AIDS in southern Illinois. World AIDS day is an annual event to honor those we have lost, as well as, those still living with the disease and continued efforts to prevent new infections. Preregistration is $30. So ILL Racing will be providing the official timing for the event. The race will begin and end at the Eurma C. Hayes Center.
We have also provided the option of a virtual race. This is a race that can be run (or walked) from any location you choose. You can run, jog, or walk on the road, on the trail, on the treadmill, at the gym or on the track (or even at another race). You get to run your own race, at your own pace, and time it yourself. Plus, you are providing the same level of support of those present on race day. If you choose the virtual option, please contact our office after December 7th to pick up your race bag and t shirt at 618-684-3143 ext. 155.
If you are unable to participate in the run/walk, we would love for you to volunteer.
Come in your professional run attire or have some holiday fun and dress it up!
