About this Event
A cross-cultural collaboration, Sangam tells a selection of poignant stories about friendship, mutual respect and sustainability through the language of Bharatanatyam. Derived from ancient Sanskrit texts and Native American fables, these stories are told with the valley’s own dancers and musicians from across genres. The production will be performed to a live musical ensemble, with freshly created music at the intersection of Indian voice, percussion, West African percussion and Native American flute.
This project is generously supported by Salt Lake City Arts Council’s individual Artist Career Empowerment Grant of 2022.
