Celebrate Juneteenth at City Springs! Admission is free. This year's annual free, family-friendly Juneteenth Celebration promises to be an exuberant tribute to freedom and liberty. The Juneteenth Celebration will showcase a captivating performing arts production, a STEAM digital art gallery, educational activities, an array of food vendors, and more!
In Byers Theatre at 5:30 p.m. sharp, Namari Dance Center will produce and direct a high-quality stage program that tells the story of Juneteenth using dance, spoken word, and song.
In Byers Theatre Lobby, Sandy Springs collaborates with LIQUID Arts & Productions to present an immersive Art Exhibition and Experience, centered on the creativity of high school students from Sandy Springs and Dunwoody, featuring interactive digital artworks. Guided by the artistic vision of PeQue, the students' pieces will incorporate Augmented Reality, offering guests the opportunity to engage with innovative displays. The students will also collectively work on a large mural-sized masterpiece, which will be the exhibition’s centerpiece.
On the City Green, the outdoor festivities aim to provide an educational complement to the stage production and digital art gallery. Family-friendly activities will include Juneteenth trivia, West African drum circle, and more!
