About this Event
The Sandbox Symphony is about building and celebrating community through healing art practices. Our arts activation targets Southside residents but includes Chicagoans with diverse backgrounds dealing with a plethora of controversies who desire inspiration. Our goal for the Sandbox Symphony is to create an inclusive space for positive impact through alternate healing methods. We use sound, yoga, movement, dance, visual arts, and social practice to stimulate minds differently. The Sandbox Symphony provides a safe place to experience healing art practices where people can engage at their own pace, taking the time one needs to enjoy, express themselves and be active in their healing. We know this experience requires vulnerability, so we give people the choice to join us on Oakwood Beach with a host of activities. Testimonials show that those who engage in our interactive art exhibition, live performances, yoga, and meditation have been rejuvenated and inspired to engage in new activities. By communing with like-minded individuals, we hope to end cycles of negativity in our community and across the city.
