ABOUT THIS EVENT
We invite you to explore San Mateo County’s new initiative, United for Youth Vision 2030: A Blueprint for Youth Well-Being. Please join us for this launch event, sponsored by the Sand Hill Foundation in partnership with Thrive Alliance and the Coalition for Safe Schools and Communities at the San Mateo County Office of Education, on November 21, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM (followed by a happy hour).
Discover the new comprehensive youth mental health plan developed through the Coalition for Safe Schools and Communities and learn how you can contribute to its implementation. This interactive gathering will offer insights into the plan’s creation, five key priorities, and collaborative opportunities moving forward. Nonprofits in particular alongside funders will have the chance to share how their existing work aligns with the plan. Collectively, the group will brainstorm innovative partnership ideas to support the plan’s objectives.
Don't miss this chance to connect with like-minded individuals, including fellow nonprofits, philanthropic leaders, and government representatives, all committed to enhancing youth mental health and education in our community. This will be a great opportunity to engage with other professionals in advance of Thrive Alliance and San Mateo County Office of Education's annual Partners in Education Summit that will be held on February 13, 2025. We look forward to seeing you there!
BACKGROUND
This event emerges from the Coalition for Safe Schools and Communities, formed in the wake of the Sandy Hook tragedy to address the pressing need for safer schools. This year, the coalition has developed a comprehensive youth mental health plan in collaboration with San Mateo County Health, the San Mateo County Office of Education, and various stakeholders. The initiative aims to enhance mental health services for school and transition-age youth, emphasizing a holistic approach to well-being that recognizes the unique challenges faced by young people. By bringing together nonprofits, philanthropic partners, and government leaders, the event seeks to foster collaboration and engagement in implementing this vital plan for the community’s youth.
