This is Chinatown in San Francisco, the oldest Chinatown in North America, the largest Chinese community outside of Asia, and the most densely populated area in San Francisco. Since its establishment in the 1840s, Chinatown has played an important role in the history and culture of the Chinese immigrant community in the United States and even the entire North America. In addition to being the place where thousands of Chinese immigrants settled after arriving in the United States, there are about 100,000 overseas Chinese living here. Everything written and heard here is in Chinese. Everything seen and heard is very traditional Chinese style, just like a small China. Chinatown has all Chinese goods from daily groceries to precious jewelry, and also retains traditional catering and architectural clothing.
