About Stafford Lake
Stafford Lake, nestled in Marin County, offers a stunning landscape ideal for plein air painting, with rolling golden hills, oak woodlands, and a serene lake reflecting the sky. This 139-acre park provides breathtaking vistas of Mount Burdell and the surrounding countryside. The lake and its open meadows attract wildlife such as egrets, hawks, and deer, adding dynamic subjects for artists. Originally part of ranchland, the area has been preserved as a recreational space, offering a peaceful retreat just minutes from urban life. Its blend of water, sky, and rugged terrain makes it a perfect setting for capturing light and atmosphere in plein air painting.
