About this Event
Rise South City, Climate Resilient Communities, and OneShoreline are hosting a workshop on critical flood and weather-related challenges that affect San Bruno’s Belle Air neighborhood.
Please join us on Thursday, October 24, 2024 at 6pm at Belle Air Elementary School. Food and child care will be provided!
We will share findings from conversations with neighbors, and plan for this winter and years ahead. Please bring your flooding-related experiences, questions, and concerns.
What we’ve heard from you so far:
- Extreme weather has worsened in recent years. Flooding in particular has damaged residents’ properties (cars and homes), blocked roads, increased issues such as mold and pests, and caused anxiety.
- Residents have explored many strategies for addressing weather impacts, such as moving cars, sandbagging, installing pumps, and monitoring forecasts.
- Residents’ priorities include clearing storm drain debris, financial support to prepare their homes, and more transparency about flood insurance.
We hope to see you and hear your perspectives on Thursday, October 24th! Please email [email protected] for any additional questions.
Rise South City, Climate Resilient Communities, and OneShoreline are partnering to support residents of Belle Air through extreme weather.
