Creative Eye in The Upstairs Studios at Blue Star is excited to announce their next exhibition, San Antonio Forever – A Solo Exhibition featuring 10 New Works by Timothy McVain! Join us from 7pm-10pm for the opening reception on First Friday, July 1st. We will be donating a portion of the proceeds from this exhibition to THRIVE Youth Center.
Artist Statement:
SAN ANTONIO FOREVER: This exhibition is a love letter to the city that I love so dearly and my hope is that my body of work encourages everyone to pursue their passions and never give up on their dreams, others, and themselves.
Artist Bio:
Timothy McVain is an artist, photographer, musician and writer based in San Antonio, Texas. After moving to SA in 2010 and spending a week touring the city and taking photos, reading about the city’s history, riding the river taxi, and visiting all the missions he knew this was a special place and one he would call home for years to come.
Timothy McVain’s passion for art began as a way to express and illustrate the inner turmoil, depression and uncertainty that he felt. His passion for photography, while present since he was a kid, began afresh when he moved to San Antonio as a way to get out of his apartment and away from the negative thoughts in his head. He fell in love with exploring and finding beauty, a sense of wonder and new perspectives in the world around him.
After sharing his art and photos online and attending as many art gallery shows and events that he could, he began to showcase his work in 2014 around San Antonio, Austin and Houston. He has participated in over 100 events and has had his work featured in local restaurants, coffee shops, and galleries.
