Program: Growing S.A.M.S. with Online Marketing Tools
Jessica Fink will show how online marketing can help the Southern Appalachian Mineral Society attract more local rockhounds to meetings and group events. Mineral non-profits, businesses, and mines across the country are using online tools like Facebook, Instagram, and online event listings to engage with their audiences and gain greater attendance at events. Drawing on her experience working with the M.A.G.M.A. Land of Sky Gem Show and ongoing marketing and business research, Jessica will demonstrate ways that S.A.M.S. can discover renewed purpose, spread the word, and grow.
Jessica has been collecting rocks since she was a child and started developing her hobby further when she joined SAMS in 2016. She was the Vice President in charge of Programs for SAMS in 2019. Jessica is a lifelong learner constantly building knowledge about nature, minerals, jewelry-making, marketing, and business. She will graduate with an Associate Degree in Business Administration from A-B Tech in May of 2024.
Jessica's business, crystal potential by Asheville Gemstones LLC, provides retail minerals sourced from old collections, handmade upcycled jewelry, and online marketing services to help spread the word about local businesses.Jessica is a co-organizer of the M.A.G.M.A. Land of Sky Gem Show which has experienced exponential growth through online marketing.
