About this Event
Join Artist and Sound therapist, Cherelle Sappleton as we celebrate All Hallow's Eve or Samhain (Pagan). Samhain is renowned for being a time when the veil between the worlds of the living and the departed is at its thinnest. In these challenging times, let us seek the wisdom, advice, and insight of our ancestors.
Cherelle will guide you through a meditative visualization, leading into the soothing resonance of Himalayan Singing Bowls, known for their ability to ease stress and anxiety. Join us for a journey into tranquillity and reflection as we honour this special time of year.
What is a sound bath?
Gong and sound baths are a relaxation technique and meditative experience in which participants 'bathe' in the sound waves produced by the human voice as well as instruments such as chimes, gongs, drums and singing bowls. The instruments used have unique sound signatures that elicit a variety of responses in the mind and body. In this session, Cherelle will be playing her ethereal crystal singing bowls to induce a deeply relaxed state. You will be asked to lie down with your eyes closed, although sitting up also works if that's more comfortable and encouraged to breathe deeply whilst a soundscape is played live. All you need to do is listen, relax and receive.
What will you need to get the most out of the experience.?
- A stable internet connection.
- A quiet space where you won't be interrupted for the duration of the session.
- Somewhere supportive to lay down comfortably- bed, couch etc.
- Cushions, blankets / duvet.
- Laptop/ Desktop (preferable) or phone
- Good quality headphones plug-in preferable. They don't have to be super expensive but its important they are good enough to carry a full range of frequencies.
- Its preferable to leave space in your day after the session.
- An eye covering- some people like to have something over their eyes so an eye mask or clean pair of socks can work but these are not vital.
NB: This session is open to all genders. Not suited for those who are in their first trimester of pregnancy, with pacemakers or anyone triggered by sounds. Ensure you join the event in good time, to enjoy the full experience.
About Cherelle:
Cherelle has been practising Sound Therapy for several years and trained with Medicine of Sound and the British Academy of Sound Therapy (Group and 1:1 practitioner). Having worked throughout the pandemic virtually with groups, she is keen to continue working this way believing the virtual therapy space opens up opportunities for people who may not have considered therapy before or those who experience other barriers to treatment. 'There's something wonderful that can happen with sound therapy when people are in their own space with what makes them feel comfortable. Plus there's no travel involved and once the session is complete, people are free to relax where they are at their leisure'.
