At Samedia we've been pushing the boundaries of global club music for almost 15 years, focussing on progressive club sounds the fuse the traditional with the electronic. One of the labels we have enjoyed over the years out of Lisbon Portugal is Príncipe Discos, who are dedicated to exposing the melting pot of contemporary dance sounds that have their roots in the Angolan diaspora of the city - be it house, techno, kuduro, batida, kizomba or funaná.
One of the hottest artists on the label is DJ Danifox. Born to Angolan parents in Lisbon, he first started producing beats when he moved to Leeds (UK). With a background in the tarraxo, kuduro and Lisbon ghetto genres, he joined the Príncipe label in 2016, becoming one of their rising stars. Since his debut solo EP and some contributions to compilations, he has released a full length album, contributions as a member of Tia Maria Produções together with Puto Márcio, Lycox, Poco and BBoy, and sits of heaps of bouncy, original hypnotic kuduro productions that we will get to experience at this appearance. Lisbon is one of the most important cities for Samedia, musically speaking, and we're delighted to represent one it's most exciting producers for you in Edinburgh.
