Same Time, Next Year by Bernard Slade Performance dates - 11th - 14th February 2026
Same Time, Next Year is a romantic comedy about two married strangers who meet for a one-night affair and end up rendezvousing annually for 25 years. Through six scenes spanning decades, their evolving relationship reflects personal growth and shifting societal norms.
We are seeking one male and one female actor for a compelling two-hander that blends sharp comedy with profound emotional resonance. Both roles require a convincing American accent and the ability to deliver authentic, layered performances. The characters age from their mid-20s at the beginning of the play to their early 50s by the end, demanding a strong sense of emotional and physical transformation across time.
Auditions take place on the evenings of Tuesday 28 October and Monday 3 November 2025 at The Little Theatre, Birkenhead.

please note - all roles are amateur, which means voluntary. Annual membership for the Carlton Players is £30 with a £10 show fee to cover insurance, this will be required for those in the show.
