About this Event
Same, Same...But Different is a children’s production by Sonia Sabri Company which celebrates our individuality, diversity and the bonds which connect us all. The show mixes Kathak and contemporary dance, live music and physical storytelling in a playful and colourful way to explore difference and mutual respect.
The title is inspired by the well-known Anglo-Asian phrase ‘same, same…but different’, meaning "Yes, something kind of similar, but not the exact same thing”. The three performers use different dance styles, slapstick and humour, movement and expression to create a connection with the audience and a magical atmosphere.
The show is non verbal therefore accessible to D/deaf, partially d/Deaf and EAL/ESOL and non-English speaking audiences. The performance is accessible to those who benefit, for whatever reason, from a more relaxed environment, such as children with sensory and communication disorders, a learning disability or autism spectrum condition. It is a great way for family and friends to experience live performances together in a welcoming environment.
Suitable for 5 to 11 year olds and their families.
IMPORTANT: Spaces are limited . To maximise how many children can enjoy this event, we ask the following:
- When obtaining a ticket for this event, count each adult and child attending unless you are dropping them off.
- Children age 8 and over can be dropped off.
- Children age 7 and under should be supervised and only ONE adult should attend per child or group of children.
- If you are attending the event with children age 7 and under, obtain a ticket for yourself as well as each child.
- Adults with children age 8 and over can wait in the library or leave their contact details with us if their child is happy to be left.
