About this Event
Sisters Dialogue, NorQuest Social Work Program, and the Colborne Institute of Leadership are hosting Same, Same but Different: Remembering, Reflecting, and Reclaiming on Saturday, January 24 2026 at NorQuest College.
The event marks the National Day of Remembrance of the Quebec City Mosque Attack and Action Against Islamophobia, and will include an art and photography exhibition and a short documentary featuring four diverse Muslim women sharing their stories of identity, belonging, and resilience.
Same, Same but Different is our way of honouring this day. Muslim communities continue to face violence, fear, and the impact of being misrepresented and targeted. By sharing art, photography, and film rooted in real experiences, we invite people to witness the depth and range of Muslim lives. These stories show the joy, struggle, creativity, and strength that often go unseen.
We will close with a panel discussion with the filmmaker and participants. Everyone is welcome to attend. Funded by the Canadian Race Relations Foundation.
Childminding and Refreshments provided.
