About this Event
The first building is the vibrant Samaritaine department store. Closed for 15 years, it is now dedicated to selling items from the world’s most famous luxury brand The beautiful Art Nouveau building from the 1890’s has been completely restored and displays, besides the impressive central staircase, frescos, gilded ironwork and superb mosaics.
The walk will then go into a massive typical Hausmannian building, now housing shops, hotels and restaurants, it shows beautiful 19th century structure in the central patio as well as an impressive view over Paris from the rooftop.
The tour will go on with the visit of a new museum: the Pinault Collection at la Bourse de Commerce, standing as the only building remaining from the antic Les Halles food market. In a brand new interior decorating, the 18th century round shape building now displays temporary exhibitions of various artists, with a particular focus on Charles Ray’s works. With a second exhibition at Pompidou modern art centre, It is an occasion to admire the works of an artist rarely seen in Europe.
