Sam Russell roll styles from the 1950s all the way through the 1990s to create a sonic experience equal parts transcendent & joyful. In their live performances, the band emulate the finest DJs who practice the art of reading a crowd and communicating back on the same wavelength. They use their vast repertoire & musical communication skills to play what is right in the moment while imparting a larger message of clarity and unity, never stopping until the end of the set. No two sets are the same and every show is guaranteed to be unique to the audience present.Sams elastic soulful vocals bridge the musical eclecticism by effortlessly switching from delicate falsetto to low soft-spoken croon to gritty testifying at a moments notice in the tradition of Al Green, Van Morrison & Otis Redding. The Thursday Collective is a Seattle-based collaborative effort conceived by John Tomlinson (keys) and Ted Gauld (guitar) in 2018. We have been exploring and performing instrumental based music, recently adding vocal elements. Our eclectic style includes jazz, rock, funk, bossa nova and pop, originals and covers. Truly a collaboration, our music is curated and arranged by all the band members: Steve Germiat (bass), Jason Van Pelt (drums), Dave Erickson (sax, vocals), Anneka Olson (vocals) and Terry Tanner (percussion/backup vocals). From Miles Davis to Carol King, we hope youll share our love of this music.Ranger and the Re-Arrangers evoke the spirit of a Paris cafe and the raucous energy of a Romani campsite with their version of Hot Club Swing. At the heart of their sound is Ranger Sciaccas sweet violin playing... his sense of melody and daring improvisations. The bands repertoire includes swing standards, traditional European melodies, the music of Django Reinhardt, and Rangers unique originals.
