Give the gift of nature this holiday season! Join the Kalkaska Conservation District for a hands-on Salve Making Workshop where you’ll learn how to create your own natural salves! A salve is a topical ointment made from a mixture of beeswax and infused herbal oils, used to soothe and heal skin conditions. Salves are water-free and create a protective, breathable barrier on the skin to lock in moisture and deliver the beneficial properties of the herbs.
Each participant will make two salves: one to keep and one to give as a handmade holiday gift!
-When: Friday, December 12 | 11am-1pm
-Where: Kaliseum Recreation Complex, Kalkaska
-Cost: $20 (kalkaskaconservation.org/districtstore/salve)
-What’s included: all materials to make two salves (2x 4oz mason jars and salve ingredients), education and confidence to create your own salves at home, light refreshments
Space is limited! RSVPs are required by Monday, December 5th.
***Purchase your ticket online (kalkaskaconservation.org/districtstore/salve) OR call the KCD office at 231-258-3307.
